5000s tender upside down in the shed. You can see why I've done this, its mucky and rusty and just not very good at all! 2048x1536 DSCF4646.JPG 2008-01-27 15:08:56 |

The newly re-laid Jungle Line looking up toward Piggery Summit. This line was getting long in the tooth and so we went all out and replaced it all. S Trower 2048x1536 DSCF4658.JPG 2008-01-27 16:16:32 |

Norman Sleet has been a busy man. In not more than 4 months he has turned out what you see here. A BR class 60 in 7 1/4". To carry it around Norman was very cunning and arranged for the body/chassis to split in the middle. 6 screws, 3 top and 3 bottom clamp the lot togther. All 6 axles have a motor, which means every wheel on this loco is transmitting power to the rail. It makes for something really special. The loco is entirely built out of steel. 2048x1536 DSCF7720.JPG 2008-02-17 13:25:24 |
The 60 with the roof off as Norman sets up all the wiring. Norman was making sure the springing was all correct and that the loco would run round the railway ok. It did that! I was very grateful to be offered a go and its just as good as Jim Vigar's class 31. It could easily pull the Gladesman on its own. 2048x1536 DSCF7721.JPG 2008-02-17 13:30:53 |
The 60 posed in Hardwick Central, now with its roof panels on and ready for a test run. 2048x1536 DSCF7722.JPG 2008-02-17 13:44:19 |
One of the cabs. Norman built everything from works drawings. Even the springs on the bogies are to the works drawings! 2048x1536 DSCF7723.JPG 2008-02-17 13:46:08 |
Do-nut. When finished the loco will be in "three greys" and have a sound unit and LOUD two tone horns. Come this summer to see it in action when it will hopefully be completed. 2048x1536 DSCF7724.JPG 2008-02-17 13:50:13 |

as you are probably aware it inexplicably snowed on Sunday, so I took my camera down the railway to get some decent pics. Here is the very white Hardwick Central. 2048x1536 DSCF7930.JPG 2008-04-06 10:18:54 |
